In December 2022, we winterized the Airstream and tucked her away for what was supposed to be a few months. That wasn't the case at all. :-(
On January 13, 2023, I felt I had tweaked my back. No big deal... I'll rest and take it easy for a few days. On the morning of January 15, my life took a very unexpected turn. I ended up in the emergency room with excruciating back pain! They did a CT scan, loaded me with anti-inflammatory meds and steroids, and sent me to a spine specialist, where I was determined to have a protruding disc in my lumbar spine. Spinal injections were ordered, and I was to rest for several weeks. And then go to several weeks of physical therapy.
It was the worst pain I've ever experienced.
It's difficult to plan projects or trips when you are not sure if you are going to be able to walk, much less hook up an Airstream and drive cross country. So, AlumiNest sat for months while I recovered. And I'm glad to report that I have, in fact, recovered.
I have some ideas I'm working on. I'll be making changes... again. Stay tuned for our next adventure!
